There is a saying in Bengal that a foodie is a Bengali. Gives a different dimension to Bengali food or food intake. At present the community is Bengali in heart and soul. Fish and rice is the favorite food of Bengalis. Along with fish and rice, pithe-puli has increased Bengali's diet a million times. Bankura is one of the districts of West Bengal. Although people of different communities live in this district, the predominance of Utkal community is worth noting. This Utkal society is very advanced in culinary arts. There is a proverb in Bengali that 'cooks that bind the hair'. It is natural that they are masters of cooking and foodies. So Utkal society organizes different types of food to satisfy the hunger. Pithe-puli occupies an important place in the diet of the Utkal community. This Pithe-Puli variety has given the Utkal community a prominent place. The pies made by the Utkal community have satisfied the Bengali's thirst to a great extent. Not only one or two types of pitha made by the community, they also make satkahan of pitha. They have shown how many ways food can be eaten through their pies.
