ABSTRACT | ||
The fact of suffering played an important role in origination of Indian philosophical thought. It is urge to get rid of sufferings that tempted the Indian sears to find out the path of removal. This removal or complete annihilation of sufferings is described differently, viz nirvāṇa, niḥśhreyasa, apavarga, kaivalya, etc. Although almost all schools of Indian tradition, aimed at this liberation, however, however they are not in agreement about the nature of that liberated state. Even the path of liberation prescribed by the schools do not match with one another. In this paper an attempt would be made to unfold the nature and path of liberation indicated by the Nyāyikas. With special emphasis to Nyāya Sūtra and Vaśya. | ||
