ABSTRACT | ||
Even in the present era, gender inequality is like an epidemic in the heart of India. Efforts to establish gender equality in Indian society have been going on since ancient times. The constitution of independent India also mentioned in various clauses the plea for gender equality, but it did not create much of a stir in the Indian society. A discriminatory picture of physical and mental violence against women can be seen everywhere in society. The question that is relevant in this regard is where these root causes of gender inequality originate. The main aim of this study is to understand the way to solve this gender inequality, and create social awareness about the importance of establishing gender equality not only institutional terms but also in practical terms. Basically quantitative method has been used in this research. Basically, it has been shown through this research that in some areas, legal protections are successful in establishing gender equality and in some cases, despite the existence of legal protections, the absence of gender equality in reality exists deeply. Looking at the present situation, it is easy to understand that even if gender equality has been institutionalized, but, in reality it is not established. It is absolutely necessary to completely change the mentality of the entire mankind. The significance of this research paper lies in raising awareness about the need to create a liberal mentality at all levels in the society in order to establish the concept of gender equality on the ground. | ||
