ABSTRACT
Rituals in folk religion often serve practical purposes that extend beyond their symbolic or spiritual dimensions. This abstract examines how these rituals function within community contexts to address everyday needs and reinforce social cohesion. Folk religious practices frequently integrate practical actions such as agricultural rites, health-related rituals, and rites of passage, which are designed to manage natural and social challenges. For example, fertility rituals may enhance agricultural productivity, while healing ceremonies can offer psychosocial support in times of illness. Furthermore, these rituals help to uphold cultural values and norms, reinforcing social bonds and communal identity. By analyzing the intersection of ritual practices and practical utility, this study highlights how folk religion serves as a functional framework for addressing the practical concerns of individuals and communities, thereby sustaining cultural continuity and social harmony.
Keywords: Folk Religion, Practical Utility, Rituals, Agricultural Rites, Health Management, Social Cohesion, Cultural Continuity, Community Bonds.
