ABSTRACT | ||
Yogendra Nath Mandal of Barisal was a prominent leader of the Namasudra community in undivided Bengal. Rising from a humble Namasudra family through arduous struggle, he ascended to the leadership of the community and played a pivotal role in the fight to establish the political rights of the Namasudras. Commencing his political journey with the Provincial Assembly elections of 1937, he continued as a legislator to wage a lifelong battle for the development and political rights of the Scheduled Castes. This article sheds light on his remarkable life and struggles, presented in the context of historical facts. | ||
