ABSTRACT | ||
Modern Bengali Poetry is stretching out day by day. The definition of ‘Modern’ also is being changed with colour and dimension. Joy Goswami, one of the most prominent modern poets of contemporary era, has written a masterpiece ‘কাব্যোপন্যাস Kabyoponyas’ (i.e. Poetic Novel). In this poetic novel, he has depicted the scenario of malpractice and changed thoughts of ultra-modern, globalized civilization. With his soft mind, he has acknowledged the theory of lesbianism and sisterhood in his poetry. We have tried to justify and analyse the poetic novel through these theories and simultaneously with the humanitarian ground. Joy Goswami has taken the side of oppressed woman. ‘Pathika’, ‘Sampadika’, Rina, The Heroine of the Novel – all are anyhow neglected, suppressed or bewitched by the patriarchal social structure. They tried to find the mental peace not from men, only from women at the end. We have to realize the compulsion of them with open mind. In this article, we have taken the scope to highlight the very inner area of the oppressed women psychology. | ||
