ABSTRACT | ||
The discussion regarding śabda in Indian Philsophy is fundamental. We can see that the schools of Indian philosophy dealt a lot to explore the nature of śabda from different point of view. They have tried to highlight different aspects of śabda and taken part in various debates to focus the actual nature of śabda from different angle. The Indian philosophers have dealt a lot regarding the metaphysical aspect of śabda which includes the debate regarding its eternity or non-eternity, the epistemological aspect of śabda which includes the discussion regarding its capacity to generate knowledge separately and the linguistic aspect of śabda which includes the explanation regarding its uses in the sentences as an important part or material of verbal communication. In this short research article, I have tried to touch the deep discussion regarding the above-mentioned nature of śabda and tried to explore the queries regarding different aspects of śabda from an analytical manner.
