Maymansingha Gitika, a master-piece literary genre of the medieval history of Bengali Literature. In the time of Vaktibad (Religious Atmosphere) this literary-genre tried to depict the inner-heart of women, who were totally confined by the social & religious barriers. Malua, Kamala, Rupabati, Sonai, Chandrabati – each of them overcoming their obstacles tried to move in the path of love. Especially, Chandrabati became betrayed by her beloved. But, she overcomed the situation and gave the history authoring Ramayana, which is renowned by ‘Chandrabati’s Ramayana’. The ways and medias of love letters in Maymansingha Gitika are very much unique and praiseworthy. The language of love-letters is very simple but heart-touching. By these love-letters of Maymansingha Gitika we can find the social structure, as well as the religious atmosphere of that time. So these letters are very significant till today. | ||
